Keestrack on Bauma China

22 November 2016

Global expertise in processing
KEESTRACK, the global specialist for mobile crushing and screening equipment will be represented on BAUMA CHINA 2016 through its Chuzhou based Chinese branch founded in 2007. International product experts and exhibits on stand A18 will focus on latest technical innovations and provide expert information on the still expanding KEESTRACK range of machines and solutions for recycling and raw material processing.

Leading technologies
Having earned its early but still lasting reputation as inventor and promoter of flexible tracked scalping and screening plants KEESTRACK changed in the last few years to what is now one of the most successful international full liners of mobile technologies for mineral processing with a still growing product range of crushing, classifying and material handling solutions. To guarantee continuous development and industry leading quality standards the Belgium based group owns today three international competence centres with integrated R&D and production facilities. Worldwide after sales and customer support is provided through an expanding network of training centres, dealers and service partners in over 50 countries on all continents.

The company’s Chinese subsidiary KEESTRACK CONSTRUCTION Ltd. was founded 2007 in Chuzhou, around 330 km north-west of Shanghai. Around 100 employees work in the modern facility (total area: 3,3 ha / built-up: 14.000 m²) with administration, plant assembly and parts centre for the Chinese and South-Asian markets. Production is focussed today on the KEESTRACK screen models (C3, C4, C6), but is expected to be extended to other technologies as the Chinese customers are increasingly interested in track mobile processing solutions.

The combination of high mobility between and on sites, economic efficiency and uncompromised end product quality still defines best the credo of KEESTRACK founder and owner Kees Hoogendoorn. Low transport weights and compact dimensions are equally important in machine design as the implementation of state-of-the-art drive technologies and sophisticated processing concepts. All KEESTRACK plants can be operated as flexible stand-alone units or integrated in comprehensive lines delivering a large variety of defined end products. The practice oriented diversity in crushing technologies with jaws, cones and impactors, a full range of scalpers, horizontal classifiers, drum screen is reflected in the new KEESTRACK model nomenclature, categorizing the different plant families along performance values (weight, production rates, etc.) but also identifying matching combinations across the whole range.

Meanwhile KEESTRACK is not only strengthening its position as one-stop shop for the recycling and aggregates sectors. In close co-operation with customers, the company identifies industry needs and requirements and translates these into innovative technical solutions. Intensive research on sustainable electric drive concepts is only one example – another important field is the consequent use of modern communication technology for remote plant control and maintenance management with the telematics tool “Keestrack-er”. Perfectly adapted on processing environments, the GSM/satellite supported monitoring system provides real-time machine status information and offers a large set of valuable data for optimized operations.

The future on stand
In Shanghai KEESTRACK displays the diesel-electrically powered track mobile impact crusher R6e as an alternative to the traditional diesel-hydraulic model R6. Representing the flagships of the company’s impactor programme, both plants with a fully equipped 60 tonnes transport weight impressively underline the company’s approach to deliver highly productive performance in a distinctively compact form. The “hybrid” drive concept of the R6e includes an 496 kW on-board diesel engine with direct drive for the crusher, an efficient load sensing hydraulic drive for feeders, cooling fans, tracks and cylinders and an 150-kVa-generator for the installed electrical drives on screens, conveyors or other components (magnets, compressors, etc.). The diesel-electric system guarantees the efficient drive of the impact crusher with its exceptionally large rotor (Ø 1267 mm, 6100 kg) for smooth and highly productive operation up to 450 tph (inlet opening: 970 x 1300 mm). The replacement of installed hydraulic screens and conveyor drives with easily to be connected E-motors offers advantages in energy consumption and prevents the risk of harmful oil leakages. According to KEESTRACK the diesel-electric drive offers fuel savings up to 25 % in typical operations. This might be even enhanced if ancillary equipment (screens, stackers, etc.) is run through the external power supply of the R6e (125 A / approx. 75 kW).

KEESTRACK introduced these economical diesel-electric “e-“versions with plug-in option in 2012, nowadays most of its scalpers, screeners but also the jaw, cone and impact crushers and the complete stacker range are available both with traditional diesel-hydraulic or with diesel-electric drive. On BAUMA China the tracked 3-deck classifier C6e represents that modern range. Equipped as standard with an 8,1-m³ hopper, an effective 4500 x 1800 mm triple deck screen (inclination:9° – 24°) and conveyors with large stockpiling capacities, the 33-tonne-machine produces up to 400 tph. According to emission standards the C6e is equipped with on-board diesels from 74 – 90 kW. Track drive and hydraulic cylinders are powered through an engine-driven pump, all other drives and components – screens, conveyors, compressors, etc. – are connected to the 63 kVA on-board generator, or supplied by external sources as the crusher or mains. The extensive replacement of hydraulic drives is clearly reflected through the far smaller hydraulic tank on the “e”-version (240 ltrs. vs. 400 ltrs.). Average fuel consumption in diesel-electric operation is expected to be 20 percent lower than the corresponding diesel-hydraulic values.

From the tracked stacker range KEESTRACK is displaying in the diesel-hydraulic 12-tonnes model S5. With feed capacities from 300 – 500 tph its 23 metre conveyor (width 1000 mm) offers stockpile capacities up to 15.000 tons (22° angle, 180° swivelling). Like the other KEESTRACK stacker models the optionally fully remote controlled S5 is also available in a diesel-electric “plug-in” version with external power supply from mains, crusher/screen or external gen set.
